A few km from Manaus to Vila Paraíso (The film “The Jungle” was recorded). The visit begins at a waterfront warehouse, where rubber plates were shipped around the world. Here we will enter the Manor House of Rubber, whose majestic architecture shows the richness of Brazilian rubber plantations from the growth of industry and the war effort.
During our visit, visit the “big tent” where the rubber making tools were kept. You will also see the “chapel” and the flour warehouse. Afterwards, hike along a short trail into the jungle to see rubber trees, as well as witness the process of how to collect them. You will see where rubber balls were placed to start the smoking process. Finally, visit the modest houses where rubber extraction workers lived. The house portrays the life and habits of the era of rubber extraction in the golden age. We will return to Manaus with a short stop at Praia do Tupé, where there may be a possibility to swim. Estimated time of arrival at the hotel is at 1:00 pm.
