07:00 AM Flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi

Board your domestic flight to Mikumi National Park. The flight takes approximately 1 hour 10 minutes and offers scenic views of the Tanzanian mainland.

08:10 AM Arrival at Mikumi Airstrip

Your professional safari guide and driver will welcome you. After a quick safety briefing, hop into your open-roof 4×4 vehicle and begin your game drive.

08:30 AM to 12:30 PM Morning Game Drive

Explore Mikumi’s floodplains and acacia woodlands, home to a wide array of wildlife such as:

• Lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes

• Zebras, wildebeests, impalas

• Hippos at the Mkata River Hippo Pool

• Bird species like lilac-breasted rollers and martial eagles

Enjoy stops for photography, animal tracking, and interpretation by your guide.

12:30 PM Bush Lunch in the Park

Relax and enjoy a packed picnic lunch in a safe, designated area within the park. This mid-day break allows for rest and scenic appreciation.

01:30 PM to 02:30 PM Afternoon Game Drive

Continue exploring new areas of the park in search of any missed sightings. Depending on the season, you may also witness dramatic predator-prey interactions or elephants bathing at waterholes.

02:45 PM Return to Mikumi Airstrip

After a full day of adventure, you’ll be dropped off at the airstrip to board your return flight to Zanzibar.

03:00 PM Flight to Zanzibar

Enjoy a relaxed return flight with views of the Uluguru Mountains or the Selous wilderness en route.

04:15 PM – Arrival in Zanzibar & Transfer to Hotel

You’ll be met at the airport by your driver and transferred back to your hotel, arriving by early evening.
