Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival at the International Airport in Entebbe you will meet & greet our driver guide who will transfer you to your luxury boutique hotel for check-in.

The photography focus will be the sunset over Lake Victoria which will be a golden-hour warm-up shots

Day 2

You will enjoy a scenic aerial photography over Uganda’s landscapes during your flight.

Our Guide/ driver will be waiting to transfer you to the lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. In the afternoon, go for optional forest walk or lodge-based photography

The misty forest layers and local community portraits will be the photography focus.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking Experience

Early start for best light conditions, have a guided gorilla trekking experience with ranger team, giving you a chance of an up-close encounter with the mountain gorillas. A full hour observing family dynamics and exclusive photography opportunities giving you a close-up portraits of gorillas plus emotional expressions and interactions.

Due to low-light forest shooting challenges, Pro Tips for you is use fast lenses (f/2.8 or lower), ISO flexibility is key and silent shooting mode recommended.

Afternoon: Editing session / relaxation

Day 4

Drive through the Kigezi Highlands and crater lakes, with photography stops at Terraced hills, Tea plantations and Rural life scenes

Day 5

Chimpanzee Tracking on a guided trek in one of Africa’s richest primate forests. There is a high success rate of observing the chimpanzees in action. Expect to encounter multiple primate species. Capture dynamic primate behavior, Action shots (jumping, feeding), Forest light contrasts are the photography highlights:

After lunch is a visit to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk which is rewarding with Bird watching, photography focus is on the Rich birdlife (Great Blue Turaco, hornbills) Community tourism experience and Cultural insights and macro shots (plants, insects)

Day 6

Morning after breakfast embark on a scenic drive toward central Uganda to Tanda cultural village, a half day Cultural Experience. Interact with local communities. Experience traditional music, dance, Games & sports, Dining &wine cultural learning and daily life.

The photography highlights are portraits of elders and children, cultural performances tradiational crafts and lifestyle.

Evening: continue with your journey to Entebbe, Check- in at the hotel in Entebbe.

Day 7

Drive to mabamba swamp

Start your day early to maximize your birdwatching opportunities as birds are often more active in the morning. With the birding expert who knows the area and the species well, start your Canoe Birding Excursion in Mabamba Swamp, quietly glide through the papyrus channels by canoe (paddle boat, no engine noise). Primary Target: Shoebill Stork (often seen standing still hunting lungfish). Spend several hours exploring the swamp and its surroundings. Look out for the Shoebill Stork, which is the star attraction of the swamp.

Pro Tips: Use telephoto lens (300mm+), Fast shutter for bird movement, Patience is key

Afternoon: Return to the lodge, Editing / relaxation
