The Short Everest Base Camp Trek is a condensed version of the classic Everest Base Camp Trek, designed for experienced trekkers who want to reach the foothills of Mount Everest within a limited timeframe. This 10-day adventure offers an unforgettable journey through the legendary Everest Region, combining breathtaking mountain scenery, Sherpa culture, and the thrill of standing at the base of the world’s highest mountain.
Unlike the standard Everest Base Camp Trek, this itinerary does not include acclimatization days, making it suitable for physically fit and well-prepared travelers who have previous high-altitude trekking experience.
The adventure begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest Region. From Lukla, the trek follows the famous Everest Base Camp route through beautiful Himalayan landscapes, traditional Sherpa villages, and the spectacular Sagarmatha National Park.
During the trek, you will cross suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags, walk through dense forests, pass ancient monasteries, explore charming mountain villages, and enjoy incredible views of some of the world’s most famous peaks.

You will also pass through several Sherpa villages as well. At Monjo, you will show your permits to enter the Sagarmatha National Park. The rest of the walk will happen through the green jungle of the park.

You will reach Dingboche this way.
It’s time to leave Dingboche. To do so, you will briefly climb a hill dotted with prayer flags and monuments. The path after the slope is easy and gradual. You will walk with mountains such as Taboche and Cholatse in the backdrop. After walking for some hours, you will reach Thugla village. You will stop there for a lunch break.
Following the break, you will do a slow climb to another hilltop. That hilltop contains prayer flags and memorials of lost souls in the mountains. You will reach Kala Patthar soon after. And you will witness the best version of Mt Everest from Kala Patthar(5,545m). Following the great moment, you will descend to Gorak Shep through the same route. And after having breakfast in Gorakshep, you will move towards Pheriche village. It will be mostly downhill, and the trek will take place until Pangboche.
Now it is time to trace back to Namche Bazaar. It will be a long trekking day through the same trail back to Namche Bazaar. All the good things will repeat as you retrace back to Namche Bazaar. It will also be a long trekking day, but you will love it. The trail is downhill and accessible today. After 6-7 hours of walking and enjoying the Everest Region, you will reach back to the hustle of Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
