Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, welcome by our tour guide and driver, transfer to hotel for check in. Saigon- the most exciting city of Vietnam, a mecca of commerce, also a city with a chequered history and a rich culture, its pagodas, museums, public buildings, parks and boulevards make it one of the most delightful cities to visit in Vietnam.

Overnight in Sai Gon (Suggestion: Park Hyatt Saigon)

Day 2

This morning we drive to Cao Dai Temples in Tay Ninh to observe the midday service. Near the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name a few. The religion is a hybrid of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. The temple's exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of religious symbols. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side. In the afternoon, visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence where you will understand more about the Vietnam War or American War.

Day 3

We travel west by coach to the Mekong Delta, a wonder of nature where the enormous Mekong River splits into branches on its way to the South China Sea. The tour will be started by boat to visit Cai Be and cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables.

Then stop at local workshops where you can learn how to make rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn...you can try and taste all kinds of candies with their family. And take the rowing boat deeper into the countryside on smaller canals and to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It is so interesting to see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and see some activities of the local farmers with an opportunity to interact with them and see how they catch fish...

After lunch, we can walk around and then we will enjoy some kinds of fruits when listening to the traditional music, visit Ba Kiet Ancient House

The cruise will end at Vinh Long city

Return to the pier and drive to Can Tho.

Day 4

Visit Cai Rang - the market is unique culture of local people living along this mighty river. Instead of shopping in the town, they shop and barter on the river that is more convenient to access by waterways.

Transfer to Can Tho Airport to take flight to Danang, upon arrival transfer to Hoian for check in hotel

Day 5

After breakfast, visit the ancient city of Hoi An which former name’s Faifo where there were a lot of Chinese living together with the Japanese and Vietnamese. Explore the sights of its quaint historic district with your private guide. Cross over the old wooden slats of the Japanese covered bridge. Imagine life over one hundred years ago at meticulously-maintained Phung Hung Ancient House and take in the stunning Phuc Kien Assembly Hall. Stop at Hoi An’s busy local market.

Evening, enjoying Hoi An memories show. You travel back in time to when Hoi An is a trading port during the 16th and 17th Centuries. You become a witness to the ups and downs of Hoi An over the course of hundreds of years while it serves as a cultural intersection on the legendary silk road connecting Vietnam to the rest of the world.

Day 6

Day free to cycle through rice paddies in the countryside of Hoi An ancient town, shop for souvenirs among the antique shops and art galleries, or just sit at sidewalk cafes and soak up the atmosphere of this quaint town. Or relax on the white sandy beach.

Day 7

Leave Hoi An for Hue by road, passing through Danang where you will visit the Cham museum, which holds the finest collection of Cham artwork in the country. En route have a look at the famous China Beach.

Upon arrival in Hue, visit the Imperial Citadel, the Purple Forbidden City from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945

Day 8

Our tour starts with the romantic Perfume River visiting Hue’s oldest and most revered site, Thien Mu Pagoda, constructed in 1601, and observe the 21-meter tall tower, the centrepiece of the pagoda. and the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang, in a tranquil setting of gardens and ponds

Transfer to Hue's airport for the short flight to Hanoi,a city where the exotic chic of old Asia blends with the dynamic face of new Asia. Where the medieval and modern co-exist. A city with a blend of Parisian grace and Asian pace, an architectural museum piece evolving in harmony with its history, rather than bulldozing through like many of the region’s capitals.

Day 9

Today we enjoy a full day Hanoi city tour of this charming capital city including the mausoleum of the nation's founder Ho Chi Minh (close on Monday & Friday), the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the impressive Ethnologic Museum, the beautiful West Lake, the Tran Vu Pagoda, the peaceful lake of the Restored Sword. Late afternoon we take a cyclo tour for a short excursion through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. End of city tour with enjoying traditional water puppet show

Day 10

Enjoy the great scenery of the surrounding farmlands of the Red River Delta including rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life.

On arrival in Halong, you will board the cruise, a fantastic replica of a steamer that navigated Halong Bay's shallow waters a century ago. Halong Bay covers an area of 1,500 km over which thousands of limestone islands and grottoes rise from the clear emerald waters of the Gulf of Bac Bo. Climbing the steps up to the top of Titop islet will enable you to see breathtaking views over the entire bay. If you prefer kayaking, bathing or simply soaking in the sun then feel free to do so with a massage service and bar available on board. At night, the boat anchors away from the crowds at the Bay, enabling you to enjoy the quietness and romance of the region under the stars!

Overnight on Cruise (Suggestion: Indochine Premium)

Day 11

After a night on board the Cruise, wake up early and see daylight filtering through the mist and towering rock formations, leaving you with a dream-like memory of your visit to Halong Bay.

Enjoy a breakfast and perhaps join a Tai Chi class on the boat's deck before disembarking and heading back to Hanoi in the early afternoon.

Day 12

Today is departure day. Enjoy some free time for last purchases or simply relax before the transfer to Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport and your onward flight (check out time 12:00 noon)
