Starting and ending in Kampala, this itinerary takes you southwest through Uganda’s countryside to two premier parks—Queen Elizabeth National Park (famous for tree-climbing lions, boat cruises on the Kazinga Channel, and crater lakes) and Lake Mburo National Park (a compact gem known for zebras, impalas, and guided walking safaris). 7:00am, departure from Kampala via Masaka and Mbarara, stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photos and demonstrations. 12:30pm Lunch in Mbarara at Igongo cultural or any other local restaurant. Continue with the scenic drive through tea plantations and crater lakes. (optional) Enroute stop at the Kitagatta hot springs famous for its warm, mineral-rich waters that are believed to have therapeutic properties.
