Our first stop after taking our breakfast in the morning is the city of 1001 churches added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. “Ani Ruins”, which has made its name frequently in history and became the capital city of Armenians. This important settlement, which was established on the coast of Arpacay, which constitutes our border with Armenia, has a population of over 100,000 people a thousand years ago, while today it is a ruin. While the churches and cathedrals made of volcanic coloured stones on the snow will amaze you, it will allow you to take beautiful pictures of the landscape covering the Arpacay and the border of Armenia, the first mosque that Turks built in Anatolia.
