Hoa Lu ancient Capital in Ninh Binh province was Vietnam’s very first capital after gaining Independence from 1000-year Chinese domination period, during the 10th and early 11th centuries (968 - 1010 A.D).
Surrounded by dramatic limestone hills and rice fields, its remaining temples and ruins tell the story of the Dinh and Early Le dynasties.

In the afternoon enjoying a boat trip on a river through the quiet and peaceful landscape of rice fields surrounded by limestone formations to the grottoes of Tam Coc. Visit Bich dong pagoda.
