Tour Overview

- It is located at an altitude of 1884 meters in Çamlıhemşin District. The plateau is mostly visited by expatriates in the summer months. The traditional highland houses of the plateau with accommodation are also interesting. Elevit Plateau attracts attention with its festivals held in August as it is famous for its horons. There are also other wild animals unique to the Black Sea, especially wild goats.

- Palovit Waterfall in Kaçkar Mountains National Park is one of the highest flowing waterfalls in Rize. This famous waterfall in a lush forest cascades from a height of about 15 meters into the river bed. Palovit can only be viewed from a high point in a rocky location. The road from Çamlıhemşin district of Rize leads to the historic Çinçiva (Şenyuva) stone arch bridge and then to Zilkale.

- It is one of the most remarkable monuments of the region. It is located 15 kilometers south of the district center, on the western slopes of the Fırtına Stream. The steep rock mass on which the castle is built is 750 meters above the sea and about 100 meters above the stream bed.

Itinerary

Day 1

For our Elevit Plateau tour departing from Trabzon, we start our journey at 07:30 in the morning from Akçaabat Ak Mosque.

After picking up our other guests from various stops, we will provide breakfast on board the vehicle. After a short journey, we will make a stop in Sürmene to see and shop for Sürmene Knives. After the break, we will reach Fırtına Valley after approximately 1.5 hours.

Here, we will have a short break for photo and video shooting. During the break, those who wish can do zipline over Fırtına River. After the break, we will move to Çamlıhemşin. Our first destination is Çinçiva Village, where the TV series "Sevdaluk" was filmed. We will enter the neighborhood and take photos and videos among small tea gardens, and visit the Sevdaluk House. We will take a photo break at Çinçiva Bridge, the oldest and widest stone bridge in the region, and continue our journey.

We will arrive at Zil Castle, which was built at one of the most dominant points in the valley to protect the historical trade route. After visiting Zil Castle, we will have a tea-coffee break at a café there, and then we will head towards Palovit Waterfall, one of the highest flow rate waterfalls in the region.

After a 20-minute journey, we will reach Palovit Waterfall and provide a photo break. We will see the Şimşir Forests of Çamlıhemşin, the only place where boxwood, used in the production of utensils such as spoons, combs, and shuttles, can form a forest. Then, we will set off for Elevit Plateau. We will reach Elevit Plateau through Çat Valley and give you free time there.

You can capture the magnificent structure of Elevit Plateau in photos and enjoy the breathtaking nature while dipping your feet in the icy water flowing from the Kaçkar Mountains.

After our visit to Elevit Plateau, we will return to Trabzon.
