Itinerary

Day 1

We pick you up at 08.30 from your hotel for a daily tour of Usak. Today we will go to the historical cities of Usak and get acquainted with the history of these places. Sebaste Antique City. The ancient city of Sebaste is located in Viranici Place. It was founded by the Roman Emperor Augustus in 20 BC as Sebaste. It is one of the 12 important cities of the Phrygia region during the Roman Period. In the 9th century AD, it became the episcopal center of the cities in its vicinity. There are two churches, big and small, in the city, which lived its most glorious ages during the Byzantine Period. Next to Sebaste Antique City is the Ruins of Selcikler, which are close to culture and history.

Selcikler Ruins - The Selcikler Ruins, established by Emperor Augustus for the Romanization of Anatolia, date back to the 6th century AD. In the archaeological excavations, it is seen that the settlement in the region started in the Bronze Age and continued until the Roman and Byzantine periods. The presence of 3 Lydian tumuli in the north of the city shows that the Lydians lived in the region in the old period.

Pepuza Ancient City Located at the edge of Banaz Stream, Pepuza Ancient City is influencing those who see it with its mystical atmosphere. In the ancient city, which is located within the borders of Karayakuplu Village, the monastery where the followers of Montanism sect, which has been around for 400 years, was filled and burned, is still standing. It is possible to reach this mystical place with a pleasant 2-kilometer hike on the edge of Banaz Stream and see how people treated the rocks as if they were about 2000 years ago.

Around 17:00 – 18.00 we will depart back to your hotel.
