Itinerary

Day 1

(Lunch included)

Welcome to Turkey, Meet with TravelShop Booking staff around 8:30 am and start Sivas City Tour.

Today we will visit many interesting and historical places in Sivas city. At first, we will visit the archaeological museum to get acquainted with the history of the city. We will also visit Ataturk Kongre and Ethnographic Museum. In the center of the city we can see several significant buildings and mosques. Sivas has many beautiful sights including three historic theological schools: the Mavi Medrese from 1271 (which stands out with its turquoise tiles), the Sifaiye Medrese from 1218, and the Cifte Minare Medrese from 1271. These structures stand out with their grand gates covered in intricate stone carvings, which is one of the signature aesthetic cues of the Seljuk style. Another important point of historic interest is the city’s oldest mosque, the Ulu Camii, which was completed in 1196 and is a beautiful example of striking simplicity in terms of design. The Behrampasa Han (caravanserai) is also an important structure that represents Sivas’ Ottoman influence and was completed in 1573 with beautiful lion motifs around its windows. There are also a number of Seljuk turbesi (cylindrical tombs) scattered about the town. During lunch, we have time to try the local cuisine with drinks. Sivas's local kitchen is very rich in variety and the colour of the dishes, which we can mainly list as follows: kebaps, biryan kebap, meatballs, desserts, salads and spices special to the city. On the way, we will visit one of the famous leather production centers in the region, where you will have the opportunity to get a good factory rate. On this guided tour, you will avoid the constant nagging and sometimes bullying that is well known in the markets of Turkey, enabling you to enjoy the shopping experience whilst gaining the knowledge of the ancient craftsmen. Around 17:00 – 18.00, we will depart back to your hotel.

We hope your tour was a memorable one and we look forward to seeing you in the future on another TravelShop Booking Tour. Have a safe trip back home and thanks for choosing TravelShop Booking.
