Karatepe Castle in Gokcedam Village, a Late Hittite border fortress

Itinerary

Day 1

We will pick you up from the hotel in the morning. We will visit today:

Karatepe Castle: It is located in the Gokcedam Village of the district center. It is about 20 km away from the district center. In the 8th century BC, in the Late Hittite Age, the castle was named Asativadaya as a border fortress against the wild tribes in the north by Asativatos, who introduced himself as the ruler of Adana plain.

Maksutoglu Plateau: It is located 45 km from the district center. There are houses with red tiles in this plateau. As soon as you reach the plateau, many kinds of trees welcome you. Here, it fascinates people with its clean air and nature.

Karatepe Aslantash Open Air Museum: It is located in the village of Kizyusuflu, which is 22 km away from the district center. It was built here by the Hittite king Asativatas, who ruled Adana in the 8th century BC, as a border fortress to protect his kingdom against the wild tribes in the north. The works here were asked to be taken to the gated museum, but since they were many, they made this place an Open Air Museum.

Kokar Hot Springs: This spa, which is 15 km away from the district center, distributes it as a source of healing. The reason why he says skunk is both the smell of the hot spring water and the smell of the trees in the surroundings, as soon as he comes here, takes the person out of himself in mixing these odors.

Sulemish Camligi : It is located on a hill in the center of the district. During the Ottoman period, this place was used as Otag by Camlik Bey. While it was a steppe until 1973, afforestation works were carried out by the municipality in 1976.

Kadirli Ala Camii: Ala Mosque is in Kadirli ilce (district) of Osmaniye Province. There is a Roman necropolis to the east of the mosque. It was a Byzantine church and monastery built in the 5th century. After the city was captured by Kasim Bey of Dulkadirids in 1489, it was converted into a mosque and a madrasa. It was initially named Alauddevle Mescit after Kasim Bey's father Alauddevle Bozkurt.

Sharlak Waterfall: Sharlak Waterfall, which is shown as one of the magnificent natural beauties of Osmaniye, is located in the district of Kadirli, on the stream of Baliklar. The 25-meter waterfall is poured from a height of 5 meters. The Sharlak Waterfall, which is described as a miniature of the Manavgat waterfall, is among the places you should definitely see in Osmaniye.
