Itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from your hotel in Pamukkale and transfer to Denizli Çardak Airport for your domestic flight to Istanbul. Please note that self check-in is required for your flight. Upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, our representative will welcome you with a name placard and escort you to the tour vehicle. Your tour begins in the historic Sultanahmet Area, also known as The Old City, which served as the capital of the Byzantine Empire and later the Ottoman Empire after 1453. Explore Sultanahmet Square, home to the ancient Hippodrome, where you can see notable monuments such as the Constantine Obelisk, Serpentine Column, Obelisk of Theodosius, and the German Fountain. Next, visit the stunning Sultan Ahmed Mosque, famously known as the Blue Mosque due to the beautiful blue tiles adorning its interior. Across from the mosque, you will get an external view of the historic Hagia Sophia. Then, tour the magnificent Topkapi Palace, built in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. The palace was the residence of the Ottoman sultans for over 400 years and houses incredible collections and architecture. (Note: Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays.) After a lunch break, enjoy a walk through the Grand Covered Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı), one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. Here, you can explore over 4,000 shops featuring goldsmiths, carpet sellers, Turkish arts and crafts such as hand-painted ceramics, copperware, brassware, onyx items, and meerschaum pipes. (Note: The Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays.) At the end of the day, transfer to Istanbul Airport for your flight back to Denizli Çardak Airport. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and taken back to your hotel in Pamukkale. We hope you had a memorable experience and look forward to welcoming you again on another TravelShop Booking tour.
