Pick up from your hotel and depart for Ephesus Ancient City. Visit to Ephesus, Ephesus is an exceptional testimony to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial and early Christian periods. Ephesus is an important site for Christianity; being one of the seven Churches of Revelation. Apostle Paul probably spent two and half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey. In two hours, you will be exploring the city by walking on the marble streets, accompanied by our English-speaking tour guide. In our tour, we will be seeing the Odeon, State Agora, the Prytaneion, the Memmius Monument, the Domitian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, the Hadrian Temple and the latrines. we will carry on with our exploration with the Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theatre and Arcadiane (harbour road). After Ephesus City our guide will give you free time for lunch. We will visit a place which continues to perform one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving centre. After that we will visit the Artemis Temple one of the seven wonders of the world. The guide will give small information about the Temple and then departure to Turkish Sirince Village. Sirince is an old village of ‘the Byzantine Greeks situated on the hills of Selcuk and 7 km from Ephesus. As part of the peace pact after the Turkish national war (1919-1922), a formal exchange of Turkish and Greeks, was agreed upon and Sirince is inhabited by Turkish now. The village is popular for beautiful traditional houses and fruit flavoured wine production; and you will have a free time for some wine tasting. On the way we will visit one of the famous leather production centers of the region, where you will have the opportunity to get a good factory rate. On this guided tour, you will avoid the constant nagging and sometimes bullying that is well known in the markets of Turkey, enabling you to enjoy the shopping experience whilst gaining the knowledge of the ancient craftsmen. Around 17:00 – 18.00 we will depart back to Mugla and drop back to your hotel.
