Join us on the Cappadocia Yellow Tour, a full-day guided excursion that takes you through some of the most stunning and historically rich locations in the region. From colorful valleys and rock-carved churches to traditional villages and underground cities, this tour is ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and history enthusiasts.
Our journey begins at Red Valley (Kızılçukur Valley), known for its vibrant red rock formations and unique fairy chimneys. This valley is especially popular for its incredible sunset views. The rock structures here are shorter and naturally shaped in ways that resemble animals — a truly magical start to your Cappadocia experience.
Next, we visit Rose Valley (Güllüdere Valley), a 4 km hiking trail filled with lush vegetation, fruit trees, and fascinating rock-carved churches. The valley is named for its pinkish-red hues at sunset. As we explore, you’ll discover five historic churches carved directly into the soft volcanic rock:
· Three Cross Church
· Quince Church
· Pillared Church
· Joachim and Anna Church
· Church of St. Agathangelus
Each church reveals centuries-old frescoes and monastic architecture unique to Cappadocia’s Christian heritage.
Our tour continues to Çavuşin Village, an ancient settlement famous for its rock-cut homes and cave dwellings. These structures were once inhabited by early Christians and are remarkably well-preserved. Walking through the narrow paths of this traditional village feels like stepping back in time.
We then head to the scenic Pigeon Valley, named after the countless pigeon houses carved into the valley walls. Pigeons were once vital to local farmers and churches — their droppings were used as fertilizer, and their eggs helped create the paints for church frescoes. Today, the valley offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in all of Cappadocia.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we visit the Kaymaklı Underground City, one of the largest and most impressive subterranean cities in the world. Spread across eight levels (four open to visitors), this underground refuge once sheltered up to 5,000 people. Explore ancient kitchens, living spaces, storage rooms, and ventilation shafts that made underground life possible.
