We will see BITLIS CASTLE dating back to 4th cent BC that was built by the order of Alexander The Great. The castle is located at a steep slope overlooking the city. After that we will visit IHLASIYE MADRASA (Islamic theological school) which was built in ealy 13th cent AD by Seljuks. The madrasa has the major characteristics of Seljuklu Architecture Style. Next, we will visit BITLIS GRAND MOSQUE that was built in 12 cent. and was renovated in1985. The structure is a good example of early mosques in the region.

Day 1

Pick up from your hotel in Bitlis and depart for Bitlis City Tour. We will see BITLIS CASTLE dating back to 4th cent BC that was built by the order of Alexander The Great. The castle is located at a steep slope overlooking the city. After that we will visit IHLASIYE MADRASA (Islamic theological school) which was built in early 13th cent AD by Seljuks. The madrasa has the major characteristics of Seljuklu Architecture Style. Next, we will visit BITLIS GRAND MOSQUE that was built in the 12th cent. and was renovated in 1985. The structure is a good example of early mosques in the region. After that we will have free time for lunch and then will drive towards NEMRUT LAKE. The lake was formed as a result of volcanic activities back in the past. After taking photos of the spectacular view of the lake and enjoying the nature next stop will be AHLAT MUSEUM. Ahlat is considered to be the first Major Turkish City in Anatolia. Here we will not only see artifacts from Seljuk Era but also we will see artifacts from different historic time lines. Next we will visit one of the major historic places in the region, THE AHLAT SELJUKIAN GRAVEYARD that was founded on a large area. The graveyard is known as the biggest Turk – Islam Graveyard and has typical burial style of Central Asian Turkish Culture. After the tour transfer back to your hotel.
