The Cruz del Condor viewpoint over the canyon

Itinerary

Day 1

  • We will start early, picking you up between 3:00 to 3:30 a.m. from your hotel in the city center, (as long as it is within the historic center of the city) to go to the Colca Valley.
  • After 3 hours approx. we will arrive in Chivay where we will have breakfast.
  • Then we will go to the Cruz del Condor (travel time: 1 1/2 hours approx.). This place, considered sacred and mystical, is where we will be able to appreciate one of the deepest canyons in the world and where the Sanctuary of the Condor is located, a place to observe the spectacular flight of the Condor.
  • We continue the tour by making stops at some villages or important points, and then you can enjoy the thermo-medicinal waters with temperatures ranging from 30° to 34°.
  • 12:00 noon. Buffet lunch will be served in the picturesque village of Chivay.
  • Then we return to Arequipa. On the way we will stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes (4,910 m.a.s.l.), from where we can appreciate the Chila mountain range, the snowy Ampato (where the Inca girl Juanita was found), and Hualca Hualca, the Sabancaya volcano that is in activity, the chain of Chachani Misti and Pichu Pichu and others.
  • the route we find thaws, the Bofedales de Tocra (a diversity of wild birds can be seen), llamas and alpacas in their habitat, and Pampa Cañahuas (National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas) where we will see the vicuñas in their wild state protected by the laws of Peru.
  • Arrival to Arequipa 5:00 pm. approx. End of our Colca Canyon 1-day tour services.
