Your safari begins with a scenic drive from Nairobi into the Great Rift Valley, where you’ll stop to admire panoramic views before continuing to the Maasai Mara. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive across the golden plains of the Mara, where lions, elephants, giraffes, and countless antelopes roam freely. As the sun sets, return to camp for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Spend the day exploring the Mara on extensive game drives. At dawn, head out to witness predators on the hunt and watch the savannah come alive with activity. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve before continuing your search for the Big Five and other iconic species. With a full day to immerse yourself in the park, you’ll have the best chance to encounter cheetahs, hyenas, and perhaps even witness a dramatic predator-prey chase. Return to your lodge in the evening for a warm dinner and a night under the starry African sky.
After breakfast, depart the Maasai Mara and drive through rolling landscapes toward Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Famous for its flocks of flamingos, Nakuru also shelters endangered black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and an impressive variety of birdlife. As you explore the park’s acacia woodlands and shores, keep an eye out for buffaloes, zebras, and, if you’re lucky, the elusive leopard. Dinner and overnight will be at a lodge near the lake.
This morning, continue your journey to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake fringed with papyrus and acacia trees. Upon arrival, embark on a boat safari across the lake, where pods of hippos bask in the shallows and African fish eagles soar overhead. You may also spot giraffes, antelopes, and zebras grazing along the shores or at Crescent Island, which offers one of the best walking safari experiences in Kenya. After a day of adventure and relaxation, retire to your lodge by the lake for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as you take in the peaceful surroundings of Lake Naivasha. Depending on your schedule, you may choose to explore the area further before beginning your drive back to Nairobi. Arrive in the capital by early afternoon, where your safari concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of an unforgettable five-day journey through Kenya’s most treasured wildlife destinations.
