Measuring 25 m in height, this cascading waterfall is glorious to watch during the rainy season. It is told that King Ravana, kidnapped princess Sita and kept her hidden in a cave located behind the waterfall. Rawana Cave is believed to be one of several places where Rawana hid lovely Indian Princess Seeta after abducting her. Recently a 20,000-year-old skull was discovered in the cave. Measuring about 50ft wide, 150ft long and 60ft high, this cave will not impress a tourist who does not believe Ramayana.

On completion of this visit, you will be driven to Kataragama. In the evening, you will visit Kataragama Temple. This temple is dedicated to God Kataragama usually is called Murugan or Kartikeya by Tamils & Kandasamy or God Skandha by Hindus. This multi religious complex has an Islamic Mosque and a Buddhist temple within its Devala premises. It is one of the few religious sites in Sri Lanka that is venerated by the Sinhala Buddhists, Hindu Sri Lankan Tamils, Sri Lankan Moors and the Vedda people. God Kataragama furthermore has a link to the Ramayana legend. Lord Indra has been given orders to God Skandha to join the battle at the last day of the war to protect Lord Rama from the powerful wrath of king Ravana.
