Today ir your arrival in Calama Airport (CJC). We will be awaiting for you at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Moon Valley. A few kilometers from town, among the hills of sharp rocks and unusual shapes of the Cordillera de la Sal, is the Valle de la Luna, a true geological spectacle of great scenic beauty and part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve. In our tour, we will enjoy its extravagant forms and its environment that incites contemplation.
Finally, at sunset, we will see the golden and red tones that cover everything and shake anyone, making this an unforgettable excursion for every visitor.
We will pick you up at your hotel in the morning to start this trip outside the city. The tour to the Red Rocks & Altiplanic Lagoons will take us through important touristic places inside the Atacama Desert. To reach the Red Rocks Lagoon, also known as Aguas Calientes Salt Flat, we will have to go up in our vehicle to 3800 meters of altitude and walk for 1 hour and 15 minutes, to see the red-colored rocks, besides some lagoons and salt flats around.
The same way, we will make a stop in the Chaxa Lagoon, place where you will be able to see flamingos. Then, we will go to the area of Altiplanic Lagoons Miscanti and Miñiques, where our guide will give us some information about the flora and fauna of the place. The same way, we will pass by the town of Socaire and the Tropic of Capricorn, where we will make a stop to take pictures.
After that, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama to end our tour.
Our trip to the Altiplano begins early in the morning, to see the sunrise over one of the most important geothermal fields in the world: the Tatio Geysers. There are more than 70 fumaroles from which steam jets emerge and form pools of boiling water. Its best face is presented early in the day when beautiful colors are born between the contrast of the intensely blue sky and the pristine steam of the geysers. In the midst of this impressive natural scenery next to the Andes, we will enjoy a replenishing breakfast, which will allow us to warm up the body since temperatures in this area reach 24.5 ° C and the minimum of 2° C below zero.
Taking the road back to San Pedro de Atacama, we will observe the beauty of the landscape, its valleys, its native flora and fauna, where the charismatic vicuñas and vizcachas stand out. Then we will stop in the town of Machuca, an Atacama village of only twenty adobe, straw and cactus wood houses, where its inhabitants are dedicated to tourism and offer Andean handicrafts and typical gastronomy.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take you to Calama Airport for your next flight.
