Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi is a lively, bustling city that sits 1870m above sea level. The center is modern and prosperous; services are well organized and efficient. You'll be picked up from JKIA by a company representative and transferred to Maasai Mara National Reserve, where you will be assisted in check-in.

Day 2

One of our favorite places to look for wildlife in Kenya is the Masai Mara National Reserve. That's because the wildlife here is incredible, with big cats (lions, leopards and cheetahs) and elephants among the highlights, not to mention black rhinos in the Mara Triangle. There's a very good chance you'll also see giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and, of course, impalas. And bring your binoculars, because more than 500 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve. It's a place of beautiful savannah landscapes as well, with lots of acacia trees.

Day 3

Begin your day with an early breakfast and set out for the morning game drive. Admire the rolling hills, waving savanna grasses, and acacia trees. Immerse yourself in the Maasai way of life during a visit to a local village. The Masai Mara has a very high density of lions, with about 500 in over 1500 square kilometres. Watch out for possible Big Five hunt scenes during your game drives. Head back to your camp before nightfall and take your dinner and enjoy your overnight stay on your last night at the Mara.

Day 4

Have breakfast at the Mara and set off for Nairobi. Tour the Karen Blixen Estate, a former coffee plantation where the author lived for several years, as described in her novel “Out of Africa.” Enjoy an included lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden. Spend the afternoon shopping and then you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
