Arrival with AIRLINE XX000 at XX:XX hours. Meet & greet at the Havana airport of your English speaking guide. Transfer to your accommodation in Havana. Accommodation with breakfast: Hotel Palacio el Cueto 4.5* (or similar) in Old Town Havana
Early in the morning, 08:30, your guide will pick you up for a discovery tour through Old Town Havana (aprox 2.5 hours). A yellow cocotaxi will wait for you and will take you via “Calle Prado” to the “Cathedral Square”, passing the famous “Capitolio”, Art Deco “Bacardi Building” and the “Museum of Revolution”. Later, explore the colonial town. Your guide will show you some of the main attractions of Old Town Habana, including the “Palacio de los Capitanes Generales” (the former official residence of the governors of Havana), “La Plaza de Armas” (the city’s main square), “Cathedral Square”, Hemingway´s favourite haunts in Old Havana and “El Castillo de la Real Fuerza”, a stone fortress which dates back to 1562. The tour ends with a real Cuban experience you definitely may not miss during your stay in Cuba. Before lunch, you will visit a Salsa school with a rooftop terrace of a colonial house in the middle of Old Town Havana and learn the basic steps of the Cuban Salsa. From there you continue to lunch at a private restaurant (paladar) with delicious Cuban dishes (eg. Paladar “Doña Eutimia”) The afternoon & evening free. Accommodation with breakfast: see day before.
Today visit of one of famous brand name cigar factories, such as “Partagas, Romeo & Julieta” or “La Corona”, where you will get to know the process involved in the production of high quality cigars. Afterwards, enjoy a tour in an American classic car and dive into the world of the 1950s. You will see the “Revolution Square”, the “Malecón” esplanade, head to Havana´s 5th Avenue, and the legendary Hotel Nacional, where you will learn more about the days of the Mafia in Cuba. Then on to the famous 5th Avenue, the former upper class residential area of Miramar, where the beautiful mansions and the renovated Club Havana still remind you of bygone American times. You’ll love the architecture in this part of the city. On the way back through the Vedado district you’ll visit the “Cementerio de Cristobal Colon”, one of the largest cemeteries in Latin America, with over 500 elaborate mausoleums. Lunch today is at one of Havana’s unique paladares (e.g. at Paladar „San Cristobal“, a hidden gem in Centro Habana with its unique decor of Afro-Cuban Santeria and the music world of the 1950s, which has impressed celebrities like Beyonce, Jay C and President Obama and his family).
