Itinerary

Day 1

  • Arrival: Meet at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
  • You will be given your room key and the rest of the day is yours to explore Ankara at your leisure.
  • Overnight: Stay in Ankara.
    • Day 2

    • Morning:

    • After breakfast, meet your guide for a full-day city tour.
    • Museum of Anatolian Civilizations: Visit this award-winning museum, established in 1921 and expanded in 1968. It showcases the evolution of human civilization from the Paleolithic (8000 BC) to the present day, with major sections dedicated to ancient Anatolian cultures such as the Hittites, Phrygians, and Urartians.
    • Ankara Castle: Next, visit this historic castle dating back to the Hittite period (1600 BC). The castle overlooks the city and includes a quaint neighborhood with old houses and a local market.
    • Augustus Temple: This ancient Roman temple, built in 25–20 BC, is famous for its Greek inscriptions and was later converted into a basilica during the Christian era.
    • Hacı Bayram Mosque: Located next to the temple, this mosque is an important site in Ankara’s Islamic history.

  • Lunch: Enjoy a local Turkish lunch at a restaurant in the city.

  • Afternoon:

  • Mausoleum of Atatürk (Anıtkabir): Visit the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. Explore the Hall of Honor, Ceremonial Grounds, Lion’s Road, and watch the changing of the guards ceremony. The museum showcases Atatürk’s life and the history of Turkey's War of Independence.
  • Kızılay Neighborhood: End the day with a walk in the lively Kızılay, one of the most famous and vibrant neighborhoods of Ankara. Enjoy the shops, cafes, and the atmosphere of this bustling area.

  • Evening: After the tour, transfer back to your hotel.

  • Overnight: Stay in Ankara.
