Ancient Hippodrome with the Obelisk of Theodosius

Itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from your hotel in early morning and depart to Balikesir Koca Seyit Airport for Istanbul Flight. After your flight, we will pick you from Istanbul airport to Old city Istanbul. Istanbul is the only city connecting two continents in the world. In the tour, you will see effects of Roman Empire, Byzantium Empire and Ottoman Empire. First stop will be Ancient Hippodrome; it was the scene of chariot races and entertainment. The Hippodrome comprises of three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. Then you will continue to Blue (Sultanahmet) Mosque, built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the "Blue Mosque" because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. It was the first mosque with six minarets in Ottoman Empire period. Across from Blue Mosque, you will see from outside Hagia Sophia Mosque. After mini-photo break, we will continue to Topkapi Palace Museum. When Ottoman Empire conquered Istanbul, they built Topkapi Palace and made Istanbul, capital city of Ottoman Empire. In the Palace, you can see Clocks Collection, Weapon & Armour Section, Pavilions, Sacred Relics of the Prophets and Panoramic view of Istanbul from 4th courtyard. After Topkapi Palace Museum, we will have a lunch break. Then we will visit to Grand Spice Bazaar. In this place each trade having its own area: the goldsmiths, the carpet sellers, Turkish arts and crafts, such as hand painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, water ewers and meerschaum pipes. After shopping tour in Grand Spice Bazaar, we will depart to your hotel in Istanbul. Overnight in Istanbul

Pick up from your hotel and depart to Grand Bazaar. Grand Bazaar is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, with 61 covered streets and over 4,000 shops, attracting between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors daily. The Grand Bazaar at Istanbul often regarded as one of the first shopping malls of the world. After Grand Bazaar Continue to Bosphorus Cruise. Bosphorus Cruise; a traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion, you will see the magnificent sights of the following attractions from your boat. See Dolmabahce Palace, and further along, the parks and imperial pavilions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park, is Ciragan Palace, 300 meters of its marble facade faces the shore. At Ortakoy a great variety of artists, gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortakoy is a symbol of tolerance with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries. Rumeli Fortness Built by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1452 prior to the conquest of Istanbul was completed in only four months to control and protect the infamous Bosphorus passage. It is one of the most beautiful works of military architecture anywhere in the world. Beylerbeyi Palace The summer residence of Ottoman sultans exists in its original renovated glory featuring original antique furniture and magnificent gardens with the Harem on the Asian side of Istanbul. After Bosphorus cruise free time for Lunch break. Then, we will depart to Istanbul Airport for your Balikesir Koca Seyit Airport flight. After flight we will transfer you from Balikesir Koca Seyit Airport to your hotel in Ayvalik.
